Do you remember what it feels like to trust yourself?

Right now, the world is calling for more resilient nervous systems —
ones that can meet challenges with confidence, adapt with ease, and recover effectively.

My life has been full of changes over the past year, changes that have occasionally felt like detours. I took on some consulting work unrelated to yoga, changed my living situation, experience physical setbacks, ended some significant personal relationships, and started some new ones. My life looks FAR different than it did a year ago, and I honestly can’t believe I’m on the other side of it all. Looking back, I’m grateful for every bit of the challenge and change. Each experience served as an opportunity to see how far I’d come in my ability to stay anchored through challenges, resource support, and stay connected to my body’s needs while navigating uncertainty.

As I come back to focusing on this business, I feel an urge to update the focus of my work to who I am now. In some ways, that means simplifying by returning to what I’ve seen helps people (and myself) the most: building steadiness, clarity, and resilience when life feels overwhelming or uncertain - which, right now, can feel amplified by everything going on in the world.

When we’re overwhelmed, it can feel like we’re going in circles - making progress, then backsliding, or sometimes not starting at all because we’re exhausted from tips and tricks that haven’t worked. That cycle can leave us feeling like we’re deficient in some way, but the truth is that any one of us can get stuck. And while I know it can feel WILDLY uncomfortable to be sitting in that space, please listen to me when I tell you:

it’s NOT a personal failure. It’s simply a sign that your nervous system is operating beyond its capacity.

The answer isn’t more numbing, more rest, or yet another well-meaning health tip.

You unstick yourself and finally move forward by increasing your nervous system’s ability to meet, process, and recover from stress.

So how do you do that?

There are a million approaches to nervous system work, and without knowing you, I can’t tell you which would be most efficient or effective for you. We all come to the work of healing with different patterns, physical histories, and previous knowledge.

What all of our journeys DO have in common? They must start with a moment of awareness. That moment could be a recognition that we are feeling out of our depth, or like we’re tackling the same problem yet again. It might be an experience of utter calm and mental peace at the end of a yoga class that helps us see how it’s possible for us to feel. It might be a eureka moment in therapy that helps us see where we’ve been telling ourselves stories that no longer make sense. It might be the shocked or hurt reaction on the face of someone you love when you raise voice over a tiny slight. It could just be the realization that you DON’T. WANT. TO. OPERATE. LIKE. THIS. ANYMORE.

It doesn’t really matter what that moment of awareness looks like. What’s important is that we see that moment for the gift that it is. A sliver of light peeking through a cracked door, guiding us toward the possibility of an existence where a sense of agency, anchoring, and safety are available to us at all times.

Right now, the world is calling for more resilient nervous systems- ones that can meet challenges with confidence, adapt with ease, and recover effectively. When you increase your nervous systems’ capacity, you strengthen your ability to show up for yourself. When you’re able to show up for yourself, when there’s energy there to follow through on your true desires, wishes, and intentions, you can’t help but begin to feel a deep sense of inner trust. And that’s trust you’re going to need to navigate this ever-more-complex world we are living in.
